
Steve organized his first independent financial services firm in 1986. Since that time, he has focused on offering clients a truly independent private wealth management and planning organization, one that focuses on their needs, without a bias towards a particular financial product or service. Steve strives to safeguard the assets of every client, guaranteeing that they receive the utmost attention, including regular reviews of their investment allocations. In addition, he sets the tone for the overall investment activities of the firm and ensures that Hutchinson Wealth Management Group’s planning techniques allow clients the potential to build their net worth, increase their current income or help provide them with a more fulfilling retirement.
A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Steve became a financial advisor in 1982. He received his Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP™) designation in 1987 and holds series 3, 4, 7, 24 and 66 securities registrations through First Allied Securities.
Steve has written on financial topics for newspapers, magazines and other financial periodicals, as well as hosting radio talk shows on the subject. He has taken part in many educational forums and programs, where he has spoken on financial topics and issues. Steve has been listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in Business and Finance.
“The biggest charge I get is the satisfaction of seeing clients realize their financial and family goals,” Steve shares. “I believe that if we continue to keep working hard to do the right things for our clients these things will help them reach their financial goals." He adds, “We are a high touch practice, and we want our clients to know we are very interested in their lives, so our clients get a lot of information from us on a regular basis.”
A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, Steve enjoys golf and riding his motorcycle. When he isn’t on the road or the fairway, he and his wife, Karen, spend time with their seven children and nine grandchildren.
